Coaching, Mentoring and
Study Skills Support

At Access Assessment Centres, we provide tailored coaching, mentoring and study skills support for individuals in education and the workplace. Our approach is practical, structured and person centred, focusing on building confidence, developing effective strategies and supporting day to day functioning.

Support is always adapted to individual strengths, challenges and goals. We work collaboratively to create strategies that are realistic, sustainable and embedded into everyday practice.

Personalised support for confidence, strategy and sustainable success

What is the difference between Coaching, Mentoring and Study Skills?

Although these terms are often used interchangeably, each offers a slightly different focus.

Study Skills Support

Study skills sessions focus on practical academic strategies such as:

• Time management and organisation
• Planning assignments and structuring written work
• Note taking and information processing
• Revision strategies
• Managing workload and deadlines
• Developing independent learning skills

This support is particularly valuable for students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other SpLDs.

Coaching

Coaching is forward focused and goal oriented. It supports individuals to develop:

• Confidence and self awareness
• Executive functioning strategies
• Motivation and accountability
• Emotional regulation
• Communication skills
• Sustainable working habits

Coaching can support both students and employees, particularly where day to day functioning or confidence is affecting performance.

Mentoring

Mentoring provides structured guidance and reflective space. It may include:

• Navigating academic or workplace systems
• Building professional skills
• Understanding expectations
• Problem solving barriers
• Developing independence

Mentoring bridges practical strategy with personal development.

This support is particularly valuable for people with mental health conditions or long term health conditions.

How We Deliver Support and What You Can Expect

Practical, structured sessions designed to build confidence, independence and sustainable progress.

How Sessions Work

Sessions are:

• One to one and confidential
• Delivered remotely or in person
• Structured but flexible
• Tailored to individual goals

We focus on embedding strategies into real life contexts, ensuring that techniques are not only understood but consistently applied.

Where appropriate, sessions can integrate assistive technology support, helping individuals develop confidence in using recommended tools effectively.

Outcomes and Benefits

Individuals who engage with coaching, mentoring or study skills support often report:

• Increased confidence
• Improved organisation and time management
• Greater independence
• Reduced overwhelm
• Better communication
• More consistent performance

Our aim is not short term fixes, but long term sustainable change.

A Practical, Person Centred Approach

Our practitioners bring experience across education needs assessments, workplace needs assessments and assistive technology training. This enables us to provide joined up support that considers both individual needs and real world environments.

We recognise that effective support is not simply about strategies on paper, but about helping individuals develop insight, resilience and confidence.
